Building your own movement

Becoming a team captain is easy. Just three simple steps:

1. Sign up

2. Make a Pledge

3. Spread the Word

Plus, we've got plenty of Team Captain resources.

1. Sign up your team

We don’t need to know a lot about you, but the people in your movement need to know how to find you, and we want you to be recognized for all the friends you bring to the “How Far Would You Go?” movement.

In the form below, provide contact information, a team name, and a mission statement. (We’ve written some suggested text to get you started)

This information will be used to create a personal fundraising page for you and your team.

2. Make a pledge of support

What kind of movement are you going to build? Are you at the center of a big community or connected to the world through a few close friends?

Consider how far your network will take you towards the basic pledge of $2,000.

Got a really big network? How about going even further?

Dear Friends,

Our students need your help. Across the country, public education systems are in turmoil. Test scores and dropout rates are bad across the country, but they’re even worse for students of color.

We need a solution – a permanent solution – to change that. We need a movement to transform public education so that it works for all students, particularly for kids of color in traditionally underserved communities.

I have found a way that, together, we can make a difference.

I have joined with the Technology Access Foundation (TAF) in the “How Far Would You Go?” campaign. From now through April 18th, I have pledged raise the $2,000 needed to support one student for one year with critical skills and resources they wouldn’t have without TAF programs. TAF has found a solution that works.
